Baltimore Teen Creates Bold Life in Fashion

This story was so inspiring that I wanted to share it with my Blended Beauté readers. Bishme Cromartie grew up in inner city Baltimore and saw sewing as an alternative to gangs and a means of helping his family. He’s no stranger to fashion and has been sewing since 13. Read about this amazing, talented designer who is determined to be a master like McQueen, Jacobs, Kors, Kawakubo, Tisci and Vali in this Washington Times article.

Bishme Cromartie, 18, works on his fashions in his bedroom in his Baltimore family home. He designed for his first fashion show at age 16 and is now catching New York and Washington attention in addition to Baltimore. (Astrid Riecken/The Washington Times)

  1. Wow, that is unbelievable…I wish I was that talented! Wouldn’t it be great to be able to just create your own wardrobe from scratch?

  2. Yeah, Bailey! It would be great to be able to make your own clothes!

  3. I’m loving it…I wish i would’ve started on my dreams at a younger age..I’m scared to imagine how far I’d be right now. I love it when young people work on their dreams, it is very inspiring.

  4. I here ya Ren! I think about that somtimes as well. How much further along would I be had I not been afraid to pursue my passion a lot earlier? Keep dreaming big….let’s catch up!
